HearMD Teams Up With Oticon For The Annual “Hear In Pink” Campaign

Hear In PinkOctober is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Oticon, one of Advanced ENT/HearMD’s most trusted hearing aid partners, combines the company’s commitment to promoting hearing health with support for breast cancer awareness. Oticon’s annual Hear in Pink™ campaign delivers compelling messages about the importance of hearing health and breast cancer awareness to people across the United States.

The centerpiece of the Hear in Pink campaign is a special-edition pink Oticon Opn™ hearing device, a fashion forward way to spread awareness and show support for this worthy cause while offering some of the best hearing aid technology on the market today.  The more subdued colors in the Opn™ line up are also an option and qualify for the donation program. Throughout September and October, Oticon is donating a portion of the sales of Oticon Opn™ to the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) to fund critical breast cancer research.  HearMD, a division of Advanced ENT, is proud to partner with Oticon to engage and educate community members about the drive for a cure.

Breast cancer is an issue that affects many people on a very personal level, and Advanced ENT/HearMD is committed to providing support for anyone who receives a diagnosis of breast cancer.  Please read the personal story of one of our Advanced ENT staff who shares her personal story as a survivor that accompanies this post. Through the Hear in Pink campaign, Oticon continues its focus on improving the hearing health of people with hearing loss while helping to find a cure for a disease that represents one-third of cancers diagnosed in women. Although breast cancer in men is a rare occurrence, in 2016, about 2,600 men are expected to be diagnosed with the disease.

Because of awareness campaigns such as this, breast cancers are being discovered earlier, creating a significant increase in survival for women diagnosed with the disease. There are better drugs and better combinations of drugs available. Modern medications have the potential to prevent breast cancer in patients who are at higher risk. And we are now able to test an individual’s breast cancer and personalize treatments for every person.
